I must then build this property up evenly - or deconstruct my other properties down to match. I obtain the fourth from another player (with no houses on it, of course). Situation: I own three of the green property and have three houses built on each.HOWEVER, YOU COULD NOT BUILD FURTHER ON THE EXISTING PROPERTIES UNTIL THE NEW 4TH ONE IS EQUAL. SINCE YOU ACQUIRED THE 4TH PROPERTY LATER AFTER THE HOUSES WERE BUILT, YOU'RE FINE AS IS. If I choose not to build the newly acquired property up, do I have to "sell" my other houses back to the bank (at half price) before re-building them on the new property, or can I just move my houses freely from property to property? YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE DOWN ANY HOUSES TO MAKE IT EVEN.This might require you to sell a skyscraper (and get half price for it) in order to get a hotel, or to sell a hotel (and get half price for it) in order to get houses. If you cannot, then you must distribute houses equally, or hotels equally, or however low you must go. Acquiring a final title deed to complete a monopoly of a color, in which you already have improvements on the other properties, requires you to immediately build equal to (or one step above or below, per the "even building" rule) all the other properties on that color.Don't forget that you can't mortgage from a color group until you've sold all the improvements from it. Even if some of your nearly-full or full set is mortgaged, the operational unimproved properties still give you 2×/3× rent. Owning all the deeds of one color gives you a monopoly and you are entitled to triple rents. If you have one less than all of the deeds of one color, then you have majority ownership and are entitled to double rents. If you roll 3-of-a-kind (each die shows the same number), you can move your token to any space on the board. If all are owned, go to the next property (not yours) and pay rent. Then, at the end of your turn, go to the next unowned property space and buy it or put it up for auction. So, if you roll 1 and 5, you can move 1, 5, or 6 spaces. The increased rent on unmortgaged Stations and Utilities may be collected in the same way.Īdd this to your roll of the two white dice and move.Ĭhoose to move using just one of the white dice or count both. However, the increased rent level can be collected on the unmortgaged Streets in a colour set. Rent cannot be collected on properties that are mortgaged. To mortgage a property, you must first sell all buildings in its colour set to the Bank at half their cost price. Houses must be sold evenly across the colour set. Sell Houses to the Bank for half the cost price. Sell Hotels to the Bank for half the cost price and exchange them immediately for 4 Houses. If you owe money and can't pay, try to raise money by selling buildings and/or mortgaging properties. Or keep the mortgage (just pay the Bank 10% of the mortgage value now). The new owner must immediately either: Repay the mortgage (pay the Bank the unmortgage cost). Mortgaged property can be traded at any agreed price. The amount is decided by the players making the deal. Property can be traded for cash, other property, and/or Get Out of Jail Free cards. You cannot sell (or trade) buildings to another player.

You must sell all buildings on a colour set to the Bank before you can sell or trade a Street.

You can't buy any until someone sells theirs back. Pay the Hotel cost price on the Title Deed card, return all 4 Houses to the Bank, and put a Hotel on the Street. Once you have 4 Houses on a Street, you can pay to upgrade to a Hotel. You cannot build a second House on a Street until you've built one on each Street in the set. Pay the Bank the cost price on the Title Deed card and place a House on the Street. If you're the last player with any money when all other players have gone bankrupt, you win!Īs soon as you get a colour set, you can start buying Houses. The more you own, the more rent you'll get. Move around the board buying as many properties (Streets, Railway Stations and Utilities) as you can.
